Overview
The Southern Africa (SoAfr) School of Project Management’s Run for Social Impact Team is an exciting initiative combining fitness, teamwork, and community giving.
On Saturday, 7 March 2026, a team of ten SoAfrSPM runners will participate in the Rossing Marathon in Swakopmund, Namibia. Their shared goal is to raise NAD 100,000 in support of the 2025–2026 Social Impact Project: Read to Rise, an initiative that brings books and reading spaces to under-resourced schools and communities across Namibia.
Each team member will run with purpose as they each commit to raising NAD 10,000 for the cause.
Purpose
To use the power of sport and community to mobilize resources for SoAfrSPM’s annual social impact project, while promoting health, teamwork, and public visibility of SoAfrSPM’s social impact programs.
Objectives
Raise NAD 100,000 toward the Read to Rise literacy initiative.
Strengthen camaraderie among SoAfrSPM staff, alumni, and friends.
Increase awareness of SoAfrSPM’s social impact programs and values.
Inspire others in the project management community to give back through purposeful action.

Commitments
Team Commitment. Each Run for Social Impact team member commits to:
Running either the 10K, 21K, or full marathon.
Raising a minimum of NAD 10,000 for the Read to Rise project.
Representing SoAfrSPM’s mission and values during the race and on social media.
SoAfrSPM Commitment. SoAfrSPM will provide:
Event registration fees for all runners.
Round-trip transport between Windhoek and Swakopmund.
Group accommodation in Swakopmund (Airbnb house, sleeps 14).
Local Transport: personal vehicles and local taxis
Team running shirts.
Per diem or shared meals.
Celebration dinner on race night.
