100% of certified PMI Construction Professionals (PMI-CPs) in Namibia are from SoAfrSPM.
Most of SoAfrSPM's online sessions are eligible for professional development units (PDUs) from the Project Management Institute (PMI).
PDU Definition. According to PMI, professional development units (PDUs) are one-hour blocks of time that are spent learning, teaching others, or volunteering.
PDU Denominations. PDUs can be reported in increments of 15 minutes (0.25 hours). For example, if you attended the session for 15 minutes, you can claim 0.25 PDUs (30 minutes is 0.5 PDUs; 45 minutes is 0.75 PDUs, and 1 hour is 1 PDU).
Step-by-Step Instructions. Follow these instructions to claim PDUs for sessions delivered by the Southern Africa (SoAfr) School of Project Management.
Log in to your PMI account via www.pmi.org.
Go to your “Dashboard.”
Press “Report PDUs.” This option is only available to project managers who have earned a certification from PMI. It is not available to people who are only PMI members.
Go to “Course or Training.”
Enter the following information:
a. Provider: Southern Africa School of Project Management (Provider ID: C018240) (When you start typing our name, it will show in the drop-down menu. Select the school's name.)
b. Course: Add the course or webinar name.
c. Description: Copy and paste the description from your registration. This field is optional.
d. Date Started: Add the start date of the course or webinar.
e. Date Completed: Add the end date of the course or webinar.
f. URL: www.soafrspm.education
g. Contact Person: Lineekela Shatipamba

i. Contact email: info@soafrspm.education
Choose the PDUs category claimed: Choose either (1) ways of working, (2) power skills, or (3) business acumen. SoAfrSPM always indicates the PDU category in its session descriptions.
Read the statement. Check the box “I agree this claim is accurate.”
Then press the “Submit” button.
You will see a page summarizing your submission entitled, “Claim Submission Results.” Processing of your claim can take up to 5 business days. PMI will send you an email indicating that your PDU claim has been submitted. You will receive a second email when your PDU claim is approved.

Common Challenges with Redeeming PDUs. Occasionally, participants contact us because they are unable to claim their Professional Development Units (PDUs) in their PMI account. Below are some of the most common reasons why this happens.
You are not yet a certified project manager. Only individuals who already hold an active PMI certification can claim PDUs. PDUs are used to maintain PMI certifications through the Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR) program. If you are not yet certified, you will not be able to submit or redeem PDUs in your PMI account. This is normal and expected. Examples of PMI certifications that require PDUs include, but are not limited to, Project Management Professional (PMP) and Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM).
You are using a phone instead of a computer. We strongly recommend using a laptop or desktop computer when submitting PDUs through the PMI website. On mobile phones, some required fields and buttons may not display correctly. This can result in incomplete submissions, missing required information, or errors when trying to submit the form. If you are experiencing issues claiming PDUs, first try completing the process on a computer rather than a mobile device.
Your certification has expired. If your PMI certification has expired or is no longer active, you will encounter difficulties when attempting to claim PDUs. Check your PMI account to confirm that your certification status is active and your renewal cycle is still open.
