Project Schedule Management includes the processes required to manage the timely completion of the project. Managing a project schedule can be one of the most difficult parts of a project. Any delay in the schedule can be very costly for the project and organisation.
Project scheduling provides a detailed plan that represents how and when the project will deliver the products, services, and results defined in the project scope and serves as a tool for communication, managing stakeholders’ expectations, and as a basis for performance reporting.
This training provides practical, hands-on experience in the planning, development, maintenance, analysis, communication, and reporting of project schedules. Participants learn how to create a schedule, linking activities with planned dates, durations, activities, and resources.
This Project Schedule Management course focuses on six processes: plan schedule management, define activities, sequence activities, estimate activity durations, develop schedule, and control schedule. Our content is aligned with the Project Management Institute’s Practice Standard for Scheduling.
Case studies are used to apply the theory presented in a practical manner.
The scheduling topics covered in this training are focused on traditional (waterfall) approaches to project management. For training on agile approaches to project scheduling, please review our Agile Approaches to Projects training.
