The role of a business analyst is vital to satisfy stakeholder expectations and deliver a viable solution. Project management and business analysis are strategic processes that assume different perspectives on a project. Project management focuses on creating the products, services, or results of a project to achieve the set objectives. Business analysis focuses on understanding stakeholders’ needs and defining solutions that will meet those needs.
This course sets the foundation for business analysis in the context of projects.
Business analysis is the application of knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to determine problems and opportunities; identify business needs and recommend viable solutions to meet those needs and support strategic decision making; elicit, analyse, specify, communicate, and manage requirements and other product information; and define benefits and approaches for measuring and realizing value and analysing those results.
